Update December 21st

So things didn't go as planned, at all.

I've not had the time to update this part of the site as much as I wanted to.

But instead of stressing over the fact that I have a million things to do before Christmas, I´ll just take a small "break" from the Journal and I´ll be back after the Holidays are over.

Collection Update - 11/11-2016

I haven't had the time to keep up with the mailday posts..

So I thought I would try and show most of the new movies in a collection update instead, the blog will be in order soon and the updates will be a lot more frequent again I promise.


I Had a REALLY good month so Here we Go!

• Stephen King - Different Seasons Swedish First Edition. I Picked this one up at a goodwill store for less than $3 so I´m definitely happy about that.
  
  
• Zombie 3 - I found this awesome looking edition at our Swedish version of eBay, can´t really remember what I payed for it but it wasn't that much.
  
  
• Innocence, Among The Living, Rec 4, Faces of Death, Scream Queens and Invasion of the Body Snatchers - I Picked up all of these at an amazing local video store (Separate Post about that store in the future)
  

Next Up:

• Sharknado 4, See No Evil 2 and Pumpkinhead - I got these 3 from the Sci-Fi Bookstore, we have the store in town but I got these from their online store.
  
  
• Silent Night Deadly Night - Now this is a movie that I already had but those of you that know me knows how much I love collecting different releases. And saying no to an Arrow Release is impossible, I picked this one up on Tradera as well (Swedish eBay)

Continuing on with:

• Zombie Lake: German Hardbox Limited to 66 Copies and The Ogre aka Demons 3, I found both of these on Tradera

• Tales From the Darkside Season 1-4, This was another great Tradera find. I had Season 1 before but that one will be put up for sale or maybe it will be a future giveaway prize we´ll see :P

• Demons Trilogy German Hardbox Limited to 1000 Copies
• Return of the Living Dead IV Necropolis - German Mediabook Limited to 500 copies
  (Both of these were found on Tradera)

• Necronomicon - Limited German Hardbox (84 Copies) - I got this from.. You Guessed it Tradera :P

And Last But Not Least:

A good friend of mine sent me this awesome package all the way from the U.S.

Journal - November 1st

So I haven't been posting a lot lately, I have a stubborn cold that just wont give up.

I've found so many amazing movies over the past couple of days/weeks and I´m really gonna try and post them if not today then later on this week.

My dad will come down for a visit later this week so I have to try and get the collection in order and clean out the fishtanks and whatnot.

I really don´t like the growing stack of movies, but I haven't had the energy to get them sorted.
I´m expecting maybe 10 movies to show up later this week, hopefully so I better get it done before it gets out of hand completely, I´m a total neat freak (read OCD) when it comes to my collection and I can´t stand the clutter.

The packages I´m currently waiting for are delayed due to the Pope visiting the town.. Stupidest thing Ever! But it gives me some time to get the movies in order.

Sci-Fi Bookstore + Mail Day

So this is the store that I was talking about in the previous entry.
They recently relocated and the new venue is so much better than the old one.

Initially I went by the store to pick up A Christmas Horror story but it was sold out, I had to order it instead.
But while I was there I decided to have a look around and see if there was anything else that I could need.

They had quite a few movies that I wanted/needed.

These are the ones I picked up this time + Mark of a Witch, for some reason I forgot to take a picture of that one.

I've been wanting to see Lizzie Borden for a long time but I haven't been able to find it until now.

I also received 2 movies by mail so I thought I could add them to this post as well since there is only 2 of them:

First up is this gorgeous Arrow release of The Stuff, I've been meaning to buy it for months but it was out of stock every time, but I finally got a hold of it!

Next up is a movie that I was sure that I had but I couldn't find it anywhere:

Goodwill Hunting

The Goodwill closest to my home had their annual "music sale" a couple of days ago.
They usually have some pretty cool old records and musical instruments, I have to say this year was not at all as good as last year but I managed to find a couple of things anyway.

I was mostly looking for old soundtrack records, and these are the ones I could find.

Actually I picked up the Little Shop of Horrors record at another store in town.

Since the music sale was kind of a let down we decided to take advantage of the "nice" weather :P (Very Windy) but anyway we were already outside so why not.

We swung by a couple of different goodwill stores but sadly there wasn't that much to find.

This is pretty much all I could find.

It´s getting harder and harder to find anything I need.

Thankfully there is a pretty awesome store in town that sells a lot of imported movies and things like that.

I did pick up a couple of things there instead but that will be in another post (coming up right after I post this one)

I had a shitty start to this day so I´m gonna go and grab a cup of coffee and put on a Horror movie and hopefully the day will turn out decent.

Goodwill + Halloween Shopping

There´s a Goodwill outside of town that´s only opened on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, so we decided to go there yesterday to check it out.

They had changed their opening hours so when we got there they had already been open for 2 hours, which usually means that all the good stuff are gone.

But thankfully I was able to find a few goodies :)

I had the Stephen King book already but only in paperback and the Evil Dead 2 was a different release from the one I have.

I picked up a couple of other horror movies as well that I will try to re-sell later on.

On the way back we had to swing by the grocery store and they had Finally started to unpack their Halloween things.

I always try to pick up a few new things around Halloween, but I want decor that I can display all year around.

Horror isn't a Halloween thing for me its a 365 days a year thing :D

I´ll get a few more pictures up on the main part of the site as soon as I can.

Mail Day / Store Pick Ups

I've been really busy over the past weekend so I never got the time to post this.

Last Friday was payday which meant I could finally go and pick up my movies in town :)
and I got the movies I ordered online that same day as well, or technically the day before but I didn't have the time to pick them up until the day after.

I´m still waiting on my new Freddy Figure to arrive, the release date still just states September so I don´t know.

But anyway here are all the new movies:

This first one was a totally unexpected find.

I went to pick up the movies I ordered at Kvarn Video (Best Video store in town) and they have a huge "used" section that I can never pass up on :)

Really didn't expect to find this awesome boxset there tho, I wanted to get it when it was first released but for some reason I never did.

The box is limited to 1000 Copies but unfortunately the certificate was lost.

Anyway moving on:

Sometimes They Come Back... For More, Scanners and Black Cat were the ones I ordered online.

When I got home I realized that I already had an Arrow release of Spirits of the Dead (Sagor Från De Döda) but that´s okay.

I Definitely have my work cut out for me, removing all the plastic and getting the movies into the shelves before the next package arrives :D

Mail Day - Unboxing

I received two packages from Ginza this week, one of them was a package that I had been waiting for forever.
Really happy that it showed up finally.

Here´s package no.1

This was the one I had been waiting a couple of weeks for, it was a special order but still when it says 3-6 days its kind of a bummer when it takes 3 times that long to get it.

Anyway no need to dwell on that, it showed up and that´s the important part.

And here´s the beauty that was in the package, I don´t think I've seen this movie before.

It´s released by SRS Cinema, they usually release pretty awesome rare and gory movies.

So I definitely have high hopes for this one.

Next up Package No.2

The movies in this package were more of a random buy.

I usually go through their page once in a while and just pick out some horror movies that I don´t already have, pretty much just randomly choosing a couple.

And here are the ones I ended up with this time :)

Horror Hunt - September 10th

One of the Goodwill shops just outside of town had their reopening last Saturday, so we decided to go there and check if they had any new Horror Movies.

I bought the last ones they had when they were shutting the store for renovation, but I thought it would be worth checking out anyway.

I did find 4 Movies and 1 Stephen King Book.

The place was packed with people so I didn´t check the movies as thoroughly as I usually do.

When I got home I noticed that Captivity and Organizm are both Asian knock-offs.

I really hate that people leave movies like that at the goodwill.

I Don´t want any knock-off movies near my collection.

I only have myself to blame this time, I should have looked closer at the disc and the cover, but since there were so many people my anxiety was kicking in and I just wanted to get out of there. 

At least The Fear and Dreams in the Witch-House were totally legit copies, and finally a hardcover version of Wizards and Glass.

I probably won´t go out on another Horror Hunt until I get my new paycheck in about a week.

Horror Hunt - September 6th

I should have posted this a couple of days ago, but I got caught up adding the movies to the main part of the site.

It´s proven to be a bigger task than I expected, but I will get the site done eventually :P

Anyway we went out for a ride last Tuesday, we had some grocery shopping to take care off
but there is this place right by one of the grocery stores called "Butiksloppis" it´s pretty much a consignment store.
People rent a cabinet for a week or however long they want and the store takes care of the sales.

I have been able to find some awesome movies there in the past, but not this day sadly.

There were plenty of movies just not any that I needed this time.

But I did find something almost as amazing and totally unexpected.

This little guy.

This is a Kidrobot Lootcrate exclusive Alien Plush Facehugger.

I don´t know why someone would drop that off there but all I can say is Thanks :P

I looked it up online once I got back home and it goes for anywhere between $10-15 and I payed $1.17 for this one if I´m remembering it correctly.

This is what I love the most about the consignment stores and the goodwill stores, you never know what you are going to find.

Anyway I´m off to drop some Fish Fry off at the Pet Store and I might swing by the flea market on my way back if there´s time.

Titans Vinyl Figures - Alien Nostromo Edition

I finally managed to find two of these figures a while back, or I should say I managed to find them for a price that wasn´t completely insane.

I was actually pleasantly surprised, the Vinyl Figures themselves were very well made and the details were incredible.

They come in a "blind bag" just like the Funko Mystery minis, some people make it a thing to whey the box itself to find out what figure is in the box.

For me that kinda takes away the fun in buying a mystery box.

Of course I had my hopes on a certain figure, or figures.

But being a huge fan of the Alien franchise, any figure would be a win.

New Journal

I decided to move/separate the journal part from my main blog, just to make it easier to follow the journal if anyone has any interest in that lol

I´m not sure how I like it yet, but for now I´ll just keep it like this :)
